　　金刚（许冠杰 饰）与光头佬（麦嘉 饰）在一次泰国的任务中不欢而散，自此分道扬镳各奔前程……时间一晃三年，国宝兵马俑与秦皇宝剑在赴港展出的路上被白手套一伙施调包计窃走，自称“新最佳拍档”的飞贼姐弟（利智&张国荣 饰）再由白手套手中夺走宝剑，并高调登报嫁祸于最佳拍档。一时间，大陆方面派出的中国蓝波（李元霸 饰）与白手套等人均认为退出江湖的最佳拍档是夺剑人，对金刚和光头佬展开连番追捕。最终两个老搭档终于澄清误会，联合飞贼姐弟接受大陆方面的艰苦训练，以期能够为保护国宝而战……
